Ameer Speed earns roster spot with the Dallas Cowboys

Former Michigan State defensive back Ameer Speed secured a place on the Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster following the conclusion of training camp. During his time with the Texans last season, he appeared in two games and recorded two tackles. While Speed earned a spot, the Cowboys released Josh Butler as part of the team's initial roster decisions. Additionally, the team placed linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore on the Reserve/Injured-Designated for Return list and waived DJ Rogers with an injury designation.
