Amina Orfi becomes youngest British Open squash champion at 18

Amina Orfi claimed the British Open women's title with a 3-1 victory over Nour ElSherbini in Birmingham on June 7. The 18-year-old Egyptian overturned a 1-0 deficit, winning with scores of 7-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-8. Orfi's victory broke a 94-year-old record set by Susan Noel, who was 19 years and eight months old when she won the title in 1932. The win follows Orfi's recent achievement as the youngest women's world champion. In the men's final, Paul Coll secured his third British Open title with a 3-1 victory over Mostafa Asal. The squash season will conclude with the PSA Squash Tour Finals in Paris from June 17 to 20.
