The Anaheim Ducks announced they will retire Ryan Getzlaf’s No. 15 jersey during a ceremony at the Honda Center on January 30. The franchise is honoring the former captain, who played his entire 17-season NHL career in Anaheim before retiring in April 2022. Getzlaf holds team records for total points, assists, and games played. The event will take place during a home game against the Nashville Predators. The organization also scheduled a separate 20-year reunion celebration for the 2007 Stanley Cup championship team on January 28 against the Chicago Blackhawks. Getzlaf, a key member of that 2007 title team, served as captain for his final 12 seasons. He joins Teemu Selanne, Paul Kariya, and Scott Niedermayer as the only players in team history to have their numbers retired.
