Analyst criticizes ex-GM's Red Sox trade proposal for Hunter Goodman

Summary

A proposed trade by ex-MLB GM Jim Bowden for Hunter Goodman has drawn sharp criticism from Boston analyst Brandon Glick. Bowden suggested sending Connelly Early, Kyson Witherspoon, Marcelo Mayer, and Carlos Narváez to Colorado in exchange for Goodman. Glick labeled the proposal as 'ludicrous,' noting that it sacrifices about 21.5 years of team control for a player who has 3.5 seasons left before free agency. Goodman, a two-time All-Star, has been a standout catcher for the Rockies, but concerns remain over the cost for Boston, which is currently enjoying a 14-game winning streak and competing for a playoff spot. Bowden presented this as a hypothetical scenario ahead of the August 3 trade deadline.
