Analyst suggests Vikings might waive J.J. McCarthy ahead of roster cuts

With Kyler Murray named the starter for the Minnesota Vikings, J.J. McCarthy's future with the team is uncertain. Analyst Mike Florio indicates that McCarthy could be waived rather than traded ahead of the 53-man roster cut deadline on Sunday. The Vikings may seek to trade McCarthy but might have to absorb some of his $4.85 million in guaranteed salary. There are concerns over whether they can recoup any value from McCarthy if he is released outright, given his disappointing performance thus far.
