Analysts project Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber to lead MLB in home runs

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber currently leads all MLB hitters with 43 home runs through early September. A panel of ESPN analysts and experts recently identified him as the favorite to finish the season with the most home runs in the league. While Schwarber previously led the National League in home runs in 2022 and 2025, he has never finished a season as the overall MLB leader. Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong remains his closest competitor with 40 home runs. Schwarber recently ended a mid-summer slump attributed to a back injury by hitting a home run against the Atlanta Braves. Provided he maintains his current pace and avoids further injury, he is on track to secure his first career MLB home run crown. The Phillies retain Schwarber following an offseason in which he attracted interest from multiple other clubs.
