Andoni Iraola addresses Liverpool's thin squad ahead of transfer deadline

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola stated the club will make signings before the transfer window closes on 1 September. With departures of key players and injuries, Iraola acknowledged that the squad remains 'quite thin' in some areas. The Reds have so far signed Victor Munoz and Ronaldo Araujo, and are pursuing additional players, including PSG winger Bradley Barcola, although negotiations are ongoing. Liverpool also recently had a £50m bid for Brighton's Yankuba Minteh rejected. The team kicks off its 2026/27 campaign against Newcastle on 23 August.
