El Idolo returns to Arena Mexico for CMLL’s biggest event of the year. CMLL announced Andrade’s opponent on the card, Mistico in the massive main event, and more for the 93rd Anniversary. Andrade worked his way up the ladder of professional wrestling as the masked La Sombra in CMLL. La Sombra lost his mask to Atlantis at the 82nd Anniversary show in 2015. It wasn’t long after that Andrade signed with WWE for the first time. Andrade’s career took him to AEW, and he eventually returned for a few matches in CMLL during 2023. Now, Andrade’s latest return to CMLL is set. El Idolo will wrestle Volador Jr., who happens to be a member of the Callis Family. Andrade is happy to face one of his grand rivals. They have wrestled each other countless times over the years in lucha libre. Volador Jr. took home the win in Andrade’s last match in CMLL at the end of 2023. Who exactly will be in the lucha de apuesta remains to be determined. CMLL booked a four-way elimination tag team match. Each team is made of rivals. The four teams include Mistico & Averno, Ultimo Guerrero & Templario, Barbaro Cavernario & Dragon Rojo Jr., and Zandokan Jr. & Star Jr. Also on the card, the grudge between Bandido and Soberano Jr. ignited quickly at the International Grand Prix, and they will settle the score at the 93rd Anniversary. There will be at least one title match as Titan defends the CMLL World Welterweight Championship against Komander. The CMLL 93rd Anniversary event is set for Friday, September 18, 2026 from Arena Mexico.
