Andrew Desjardins reflects on his unique number with Sharks

Andrew Desjardins is the only player in San Jose Sharks history to wear number 69. He joined the Sharks in 2008-09, initially playing for their AHL affiliate, the Worcester Sharks. Desjardins made his NHL debut in the 2010-11 season and became a regular with the team. During the 2014-15 season, he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks, where he won a Stanley Cup. After playing overseas, including stints in Germany and Austria, Desjardins retired after the 2023-24 season and began serving as an assistant coach for the Sudbury Wolves.
