British driver Andy Green is attempting to set a new land speed record with a hydrogen-powered car at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats. This week marks twenty years since he set the diesel-powered record at 350.092 mph. Green's new vehicle, the 32-foot JCB Hydromax, boasts 1,600 horsepower and aims to surpass multiple records, including those for hydrogen internal combustion engines and electric vehicles. He has previously reached a top speed of 368.347 mph during practice but needs to achieve an official record in front of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile to secure the title. Green returned to racing for this project after initially retiring.
