Andy Pages placed on injured list as Dodgers face Pirates

Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages was placed on the injured list after suffering a fractured left hand due to a hit-by-pitch during a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Pages, an All-Star, is expected to be sidelined for about four to six weeks. He had been enjoying a strong season, hitting.272 with 21 home runs and 80 RBIs over 128 games. With Pages out, the Dodgers called up Alek Thomas from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the center field position. The Dodgers won their most recent game against the Pirates 4-3 and are currently leading the series 2-0, with the finale scheduled for Sunday at 4:10 p.m. ET.
