Angel Gomes reflects on career after Manchester United departure

Angel Gomes, once a promising prospect at Manchester United, has transitioned to a successful career after leaving the club. Gomes debuted for United at age 16, becoming the youngest player to represent the team since Duncan Edwards. Despite a strong youth career, he faced challenges breaking into the first team and could not secure a contract extension. Following his release, Gomes signed with Lille and had a notable loan at Boavista, contributing significantly in his time there. His performances in Portugal led to a more impactful role upon returning to Lille, where he experienced improvement in his second and third seasons, helping the team in the Europa Conference League play-offs.
