Angels activate Logan Porter as backup catcher after Rivero injury
Summary

The Los Angeles Angels selected the contract of catcher Logan Porter on June 11, 2026, as a response to Sebastian Rivero's pending wrist surgery. Rivero is expected to go on the injured list due to a suspected left hamate fracture suffered in a game against the Houston Astros. Porter signed a minor league deal last week and will join the team immediately, marking his third appearance in the majors after stints with the Giants and Royals. The Angels have been managing a series of injuries, including losing pitcher Jack Kochanowicz to Tommy John surgery and first baseman Nolan Schanuel to a calf issue during their recent win.
