The Los Angeles Angels have traded right-hander Kirby Yates to the Pittsburgh Pirates just before the 3 p.m. PST trade deadline on August 3, 2026. Yates, 39, has had a challenging season with a 3.95 ERA but impressive strikeout statistics. Given his expiring contract and underlying metrics, he was moved as part of the Angels' roster overhaul.
