Angharad Evans claims 100m breaststroke gold in European Championships

Angharad Evans of Great Britain won gold in the 100m breaststroke final at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris on August 12. She achieved a championship record time of 1:04.87, which also marks a personal best and new British record. Evans previously broke the championship record in the semifinals. Ireland's Mona McSharry secured silver, while Italy's Benedetta Pilato took bronze. In other events, Great Britain's Amalie Smith earned silver in the 400m individual medley, finishing just behind Ireland's Ellen Walshe. The competition continues as additional races are scheduled throughout the championships.
