Anthony Bowens faces AEW contract expiration on October 1

AEW wrestler Anthony Bowens is approaching the expiration of his contract, which is set for October 1. As of September 1, 2026, the two sides have not agreed to an extension, and there is no public indication of ongoing negotiations. Bowens joined the promotion in October 2020 and has held both the AEW Tag Team and Trios championships during his tenure. Following a split from his former tag team partner Max Caster, Bowens has transitioned through several character rebrands, including his current role as a member of The Opps. Fightful Select reported that Caster’s own contract is also slated to expire next month. WWE previously expressed interest in signing Bowens in 2019, though his current status regarding potential free agency remains unclear.
