Anthony Davis may request trade if Washington Wizards start season poorly

Anthony Davis enters his first full season with the Washington Wizards under a cloud of uncertainty regarding his future with the franchise. Reports indicate that the veteran big man could potentially seek a trade if the team experiences a slow start to the 2026-27 NBA season. While Davis participated in team workouts in Las Vegas and remains focused on his fitness, both the player and the organization have opted to delay discussions on a potential contract extension. The Wizards are looking for Davis to replicate his past dominant form to help the team compete in the Eastern Conference. His tenure in Washington began following a trade from the Dallas Mavericks that involved multiple players and draft picks. The outcome of these upcoming games will play a significant role in determining whether Davis remains committed to the team for the long term.
