Anthony Gordon records four assists in his first four La Liga matches

Barcelona winger Anthony Gordon has recorded four assists in his first four La Liga appearances following his summer move from Newcastle United. This statistical start places him alongside former Barcelona players Cesc Fabregas and Luis Suarez as the only three players to reach that mark in the 21st century. Gordon secured his most recent assist during a win against Valencia. Under manager Hansi Flick, Gordon has integrated into a fluid attacking front line that currently operates without a recognized number nine. Barcelona has won all four of its opening league matches this season. Gordon previously noted the adjustment to the tactical requirements of Spanish football compared to the Premier League, but his performance data reflects a rapid adaptation to the system.
