Anthony Richardson outperforms Riley Leonard in Colts preseason finale

In the Colts preseason finale against the Lions on August 29, Anthony Richardson completed 7 of 10 passes for 80 yards. He ended the preseason with 21 completions on 33 attempts for 249 yards and one interception. In comparison, Riley Leonard went 3-for-7 for 48 yards and finished the preseason with 20 completions out of 42 attempts, 199 yards, and two interceptions. The Colts have yet to announce who will serve as the backup quarterback to Daniel Jones for the upcoming season. Richardson, the fourth overall pick in 2023, aims to lock down a backup position after losing his starting job last year.
