Michigan reclaimed the lead late in the fourth quarter, but a 24-yard field goal from Julian Rauch gave Appalachian State a 34-32 advantage with 26 seconds remaining. A final 37-yard field goal attempt by Jason Gingell was blocked by Corey Lynch, securing the victory for the visitors.
