April Chapple, a prominent former volleyball player at the University of Tennessee, has passed away at the age of 62. Chapple played for the Lady Vols from 1981 to 1984, helping the team secure three SEC regular-season and three tournament championships. She earned SEC Player of the Year honors in 1984 and became the university's second All-American volleyball player. After her collegiate career, she played professionally in Italy and was inducted into the Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003. Chapple also had a significant impact on the sport as a coach and writer.
