The Diamondbacks opened a four-game series against the Cardinals on June 22 at Busch Stadium. In pregame comments, Nolan Arenado expressed his displeasure that teammate Corbin Carroll is ranked 10th among National League outfielders in All-Star voting, emphasizing his talent. Despite Carroll's impressive stats this season, he faces strong competition from other outfielders. Arenado returned to St. Louis for the first time since his offseason trade, noting the emotional significance of being back. The teams are set for a matchup featuring Merril Kelly for the Diamondbacks against Cardinals’ Andre Pallante following a previous rough outing for Kelly and consistent results from Pallante.
