Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love recovers from ankle injury

Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love is trending toward a return for the Week 1 season opener. Love sustained a high ankle sprain during a preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders after recording 11 carries and three receptions. Current reports indicate the rookie is progressing positively, though he must continue to demonstrate improvement in the coming days. His availability remains significant due to lingering recovery concerns surrounding James Conner, who also faces an ankle issue. The team expects Love to serve as the primary running back following his selection as the third overall pick in the draft. Arizona officials plan to provide further clarity regarding his status through official injury reports released between Wednesday and Friday next week.
