Arizona State and Morgan State shorten fourth quarter during blowout victory

Arizona State opened its 2026 season with a 70-7 win over Morgan State on Saturday. The Sun Devils held a commanding 70-7 lead entering the final period after scoring 21 points in the third quarter. Prior to the start of the fourth quarter, officials announced both head coaches agreed to reduce the final period to 10 minutes. Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham confirmed he agreed to the request made by Morgan State coach Damon Wilson. The abbreviated period featured no additional scoring, leaving the score unchanged from the end of the third quarter. Quarterback Cutter Boley led the Arizona State offense with 387 passing yards and six touchdowns, while receiver Reed Harris contributed 137 yards and two scores. The Sun Devils are scheduled to travel to face Texas A&M next week.
