Armada softball defeats Lakeshore to reach state final for first time since 1979

Armada High School's softball team triumphed over Stevensville Lakeshore 4-2 in the Division 2 state semifinals on June 11 at Secchia Stadium. Freshman pitcher Megan Cox delivered an outstanding performance, retiring the first 17 Lakeshore batters. The Tigers built a 4-0 lead by the fourth inning before Lakeshore scored twice in the seventh. With this victory, Armada advances to its first state final since 1979, facing either Ogemaw Heights or Farmington Hills Mercy on June 13.
