Army football players wear 10th Mountain Division patches during home games

The Army Black Knights football team began honoring the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum by wearing unit patches on the back of team helmets during their Sept. 5 home opener against Bryant. Players will continue to wear these patches for the remainder of the 2026 season to recognize the history and service of Army divisions. This initiative follows a 59-3 victory for Army in the season-opening contest. Connections between West Point and the Fort Drum installation include faculty members like Lt. Col. Paul Belmont, who previously served with the division. The football program has a history of honoring Fort Drum, including the use of special white uniforms during a 2017 matchup against the United States Naval Academy.
