Arsenal in talks to sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid

Arsenal is pursuing Julian Alvarez, with talks already having taken place with Atletico Madrid. The situation has changed after Atletico made it clear they would not sell Alvarez to Barcelona, despite the player's preference to join the Catalan club. Alvarez has missed two training sessions due to illness, which may suggest his uncertain status at Atletico. Arsenal is reportedly willing to meet Atletico's asking price of €150 million (£128 million), and positive discussions between the clubs could lead to a potential deal if Alvarez consents to the move.
