Arsenal pursues Julian Alvarez amid Barcelona interest

Arsenal has not abandoned its plans to sign Julian Alvarez despite the player's preference for Barcelona. Alvarez has expressed a desire to join the Catalans, which complicates negotiations with Atletico Madrid. Atletico is reportedly more open to a Premier League move, making Arsenal's pursuit more viable. The club intends to make another attempt before their preseason begins, banking on Mikel Arteta's rapport with Alvarez and Atletico's sporting director. Barcelona remains confident but has indicated that their offer won't stay on the table indefinitely.
