Arsenal reopen talks for Ezri Konsa ahead of new season

Summary

Arsenal have reopened discussions with Aston Villa regarding a transfer for defender Ezri Konsa. Coach Mikel Arteta prioritizes Konsa as a key defensive target and is looking to strengthen his backline ahead of the upcoming season. Arsenal's initial offer of around £30 million falls significantly short of Villa's £60 million valuation, leading to continuing negotiations. As the Gunners prepare for the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 16, Villa is also gearing up for a friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach on August 15. The clubs remain apart on Konsa’s price, making it unclear if a deal can be reached soon.
