Arsenal secures narrow win at Nottingham Forest with late goal

Summary

Arsenal edged Nottingham Forest 1-0 on October 18, 2026, at the City Ground, thanks to Noni Madueke's deflected shot in the 80th minute. The victory ended a scoring drought for Arsenal, helping them remain in close contention with Manchester City in the standings. Manager Mikel Arteta praised the team's patience but acknowledged difficulties in breaking down Forest's defense. Despite the win, concerns were raised about Arsenal's reliance on second-half goals, with only three of their 11 Premier League goals this season scored before halftime. Looking ahead, the Gunners face Bayern Munich in the Champions League, presenting further challenges for Arteta's squad.
