The usual performers delivered as Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka both made an impact after only appearing as substitutes against Manchester City in Sunday's Community Shield victory, while Kai Havertz has now scored in back-to-back games. Riccardo Calafiori was a constant source of energy on the left flank while Gabriel looked solid despite the absence of the injured William Saliba, and the Brazilian will be relishing the prospect of partnering new signing Ezri Konsa, who was presented to the fans before kick-off.
