Arsène Wenger addresses failed FIFA World Cup plans

Arsène Wenger, FIFA Chief of Global Football Development, clarified his lack of involvement in FIFA's controversial 'FIFA Forward Enterprise' plans to sell off the World Cup. In a statement, Wenger indicated he only became aware of the initiative through media reports. He emphasized the importance of an independent FIFA committed to the game, suggesting that withdrawing the proposal was a necessary decision. This development comes amid growing criticism directed at FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who has faced diminishing support from various football associations this summer.
