Arthur Kaluma eyes spot in Los Angeles Lakers 2026-27 rotation

Forward Arthur Kaluma faces three primary objectives this season after securing a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. Following an impressive performance in the summer league, Kaluma seeks to earn consistent minutes in coach JJ Redick's rotation. To do so, he must transition his shooting accuracy from the G League to the NBA level while maintaining high volume. The coaching staff also expects him to develop into a plus defender capable of guarding both forward positions effectively. Additionally, he is tasked with increasing his rebounding contributions to assist a frontcourt that now features Walker Kessler, Kevon Looney, and Sandro Mamukelashvili. Kaluma previously spent time with the Lakers' G League affiliate after going undrafted from the University of Texas.
