A's host Tigers in three-game weekend series before trade deadline

Summary

The Oakland Athletics face the Detroit Tigers in a three-game series starting tonight in Sacramento. Both teams are looking to improve as the A's recently lost a close series to the Boston Red Sox, while the Tigers have struggled, currently sitting seven games under.500. Starting pitchers for the opening game include Jeffrey Springs for the A's and Casey Mize for the Tigers. The series is significant as it takes place just before the MLB trade deadline on Monday, with both teams likely considering trades, including potential moves for key players like Tarik Skubal from the Tigers.
