A’s secure 5-0 victory against Angels in series opener

The A’s won the first game of their four-game series against the Angels 5-0 on June 18 at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. Strong offensive performances led to an early 4-0 lead, highlighted by a three-run home run from Shea Langeliers and a subsequent back-to-back home run by Tyler Soderstrom. Rookie pitcher Gage Jump delivered a dominant outing, allowing just one hit and striking out seven in seven innings of work. The A’s improve to one game under.500 and remain in pursuit of the Seattle Mariners in the standings. The teams will meet again on June 19 for the second game of the series.
