Asa Barnes commits to Tennessee Volunteers football program

3-star running back Asa Barnes announced his commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers on July 29, 2026. His decision follows the commitment of 5-star running back David Gabriel-Georges. Barnes, a 5-11, 200-pound player from Martin, Tennessee, achieved impressive stats in high school with 1,208 rushing yards and 31 total touchdowns. He is the 19th commitment for Tennessee in the current cycle and plans to enroll in Knoxville after graduating in December. His commitment is expected to bolster the Volunteers' recruiting class, currently ranked 21st.
