Ashley Robinson leaves Jackson State for athletic director role at Texas Southern

Ashley Robinson has been hired as the athletic director at Texas Southern, effective August 19. Jackson State officially announced his departure, marking the end of his eight-year tenure at the university, where he achieved significant success, including multiple conference championships. Robinson replaces Kevin Granger, who was dismissed after being placed on administrative leave in June 2025. Alyse Wells-Kilbert will serve as the interim athletic director at Jackson State pending approval. Robinson expressed gratitude for his time at Jackson State, highlighting accomplishments such as the 2024 Celebration Bowl title and a successful 2025-26 school year.
