Ashley Sanchez scores twice as Courage defeat Reign 3-1 in NWSL

Ashley Sanchez scored two goals as the North Carolina Courage defeated the Seattle Reign 3-1 on July 4 in Cary, North Carolina. The Reign took an early lead with a goal from Sally Menti in the 19th minute. Sanchez equalized just four minutes later, and Riley Jackson converted a penalty in the 64th minute to give the Courage a 2-1 lead. Sanchez secured the win with her second goal in the 71st minute. In another match, the San Diego Wave defeated Gotham FC 2-0, maintaining their position at the top of the league.
