Asterisk Talley claims U.S. Women's Amateur title with decisive 8-and-6 victory

Asterisk Talley won the 126th U.S. Women's Amateur on Sunday at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee, defeating Anna Iwanaga of Japan 8-and-6. After Iwanaga took an early 1-up lead after nine holes, Talley dominated the remainder of the match, winning nine of the next 21 holes. At 17 years old, this victory marks Talley's biggest achievement, adding to her previous USGA title from two years ago. Talley’s performance comes after finishing third in stroke play this week and a challenging finish earlier this year at the Augusta National Women's Amateur, showcasing her resilience in amateur golf.
