Aston Villa has reached an agreement to sign Joao Gomes from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The deal, valued at around €45 million including add-ons, follows Manchester United's interest in Gomes as a midfield option. United's pursuit was hindered by changes in management, allowing Villa to secure Gomes. Fabrizio Romano confirmed the agreement with a proposed fee of €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons. Villa's acquisition comes shortly after United signed Youri Tielemans, who previously played for Aston Villa.
