Aston Villa and Chelsea negotiate £65m deal for Nicolas Jackson
Summary

Aston Villa has initiated talks with Chelsea regarding a £65 million transfer for striker Nicolas Jackson on August 25, 2026. This move follows Villa's prior interest throughout the summer and aims to finalize a package that includes add-ons, as both clubs navigate UEFA financial fair play regulations. Villa's decision comes amid challenges, including potential departures and injuries affecting their attacking options. Additionally, Villa made an unsuccessful bid for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. The situation remains fluid as Villa may require multiple signings before the transfer window closes.
