Astros consider moving Carlos Correa to second base upon injury return

Should Alvarez play in the outfield, Altuve would serve as the designated hitter with Correa at second base. If Alvarez takes the designated hitter role, Altuve would remain at second base while Correa occupies third. The 31-year-old infielder is expected to return before the postseason as the club chases a playoff berth. The Astros currently hold a three-game lead over the Texas Rangers in the American League West standings.
