The Houston Astros beat the New York Mets 6-3 in Sunday's series finale at Citi Field. Houston surged ahead in the sixth inning when LaMonte Wade Jr. hit a go-ahead home run off Jonathan Pintaro. The Mets struggled defensively in the seventh, as an error by first baseman Jared Young allowed two additional runs to score. While Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto both homered for the Mets in the first inning, the offense stalled against the Houston bullpen. Interim manager Andy Green noted the bullpen's recent reliability despite the result. The Mets now travel to St. Petersburg for a three-game series starting Monday.
