Astros place Steven Okert on injured list and recall Bryan King

The Houston Astros placed relief pitcher Steven Okert on the 15-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to September 1, due to a right hamstring strain. In a corresponding roster move, the team recalled left-handed pitcher Bryan King from Triple-A Sugar Land. Okert has served as a consistent reliever for Houston this season, recording a 2.13 ERA and 0.87 WHIP over 67.2 innings pitched. King returns to the major league roster after being optioned to the minors in late August following a difficult stretch of appearances. The 29-year-old has posted a 4.75 ERA across his outings with the Astros this year. He recently regained form at Sugar Land, where he did not allow a run over 4.2 innings.
