The next stage of his recovery involves facing live pitching later this week to determine his readiness for game action. Before his injury, the 31-year-old recorded a.279 batting average with three home runs and 16 RBIs over 32 games. The Astros, who lead the AL West by two games over the Texas Rangers, are managing his return as they prepare for the postseason.
