Astros take three of four from White Sox to gain in standings

The Astros took three of four games against the White Sox at Daikin Park this week, moving within 1.5 games of their opponent for the American League's No. 2 seed. Both teams currently lead their respective divisions, making the four-game series significant as the postseason nears. Hayden Wesneski earned a win during the series, pitching seven scoreless innings in a 2-0 victory on Wednesday. Isaac Paredes provided offense throughout the week, including a go-ahead RBI double in Thursday's series finale. Cam Smith continues to transition to right field for the Astros while attempting to improve his hitting production. Houston has maintained a 6-1 record in games started by Wesneski since he returned to the rotation in late July.
