Athletic directors manage challenging weather during local sports events

Area athletic directors faced significant challenges last week due to heavy rains and thunderstorms disrupting scheduled games. Decisions were made quickly, allowing teams like Austin's girls soccer to adjust their game times and hold their homecoming football game without delay. Other schools, such as Blooming Prairie/Hayfield and LeRoy-Ostrander/Lyle-Pacelli, also adapted their schedules successfully. However, the game between Southland and New Richland-HEG was rescheduled due to flooding in New Richland. The athletic directors' prompt actions ensured that students could continue competing amid adverse weather conditions.
