Athletics defeat the Seattle Mariners in series opener at T-Mobile Park

Seattle struggled to capitalize on offensive opportunities, finishing 4-for-16 with runners in scoring position and leaving 14 runners on base. The Mariners sit six games back in the American League West and face the Athletics again on Friday.
