Athletics eye trade with Yankees for top pitching prospects for Gelof

Summary

The Oakland Athletics are exploring a trade with the New York Yankees ahead of the trade deadline. A proposal suggests the A's could acquire pitchers Carlos Lagrange and Eric Reyzelman in exchange for utility infielder Zack Gelof. Gelof, with three years of arbitration eligibility and a.823 OPS, has become an attractive trade candidate. The Yankees are reportedly hesitant to part with Lagrange, who has shown potential despite an injury this season. The Athletics are seeking to bolster their pitching staff to support their playoff aspirations.
