Athletics host Rangers in series opener as both teams seek momentum

The Oakland Athletics face the Texas Rangers tonight in a three-game series at Sutter Health Park. Both teams are looking to break losing streaks, with the Athletics holding the worst record in baseball at 21-39 at home. Left-hander Gage Jump takes the mound for Oakland, aiming for a quality start after alternating performances in his last four outings. The Rangers' starter, Kumar Rocker, will also look to improve after a difficult last appearance. With key players injured, the Athletics' lineup hopes to generate offense against Rocker, who has struggled previously against Oakland.
